EAGLE ROAR BREAKING HUGEST: AI CHIP GLOBAL BALANCE OF POWER SHIFT WEST TODAY
Taiwanese NVIDIA AI Superchips Now "Made in America"
In what was a stunning, not wholly unexpected, yet this soon and this much (TOTAL complete production) really truly unexpected…
NVIDIA ANNOUNCES 4/14/25 THAT IT WILL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY FULLY MANUFACTURE AI SUPERCHIPS IN THE UNITED STATES - IN ARIZONA.
Story HERE
Excerpt:
“NVIDIA Blackwell chips have started production at TSMC’s chip plants in Phoenix, Arizona. NVIDIA is building supercomputer manufacturing plants in Texas, with Foxconn in Houston and with Wistron in Dallas. Mass production at both plants is expected to ramp up in the next 12-15 months.”
TAIWAN HAS BEEN AN EXCLUSIVE, NOW A SECOND SITE - THE UNITED STATES.
Taiwan, led by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), dominates the global semiconductor market, holding approximately 60-65% of the foundry market share as of 2024, with TSMC alone accounting for about 64% in Q3 2024.
The island produces over 90% of the world’s most advanced chips, critical for technologies like AI, smartphones, and automotive applications.
Taiwan’s semiconductor industry, including companies like TSMC, United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), and MediaTek, generated around $115 billion in 2023, representing roughly 20% of the global market.
However, geopolitical tensions and efforts by other nations, like China and the U.S., to bolster domestic production may slightly reduce Taiwan’s share to around 44-48% by 2025, though it remains the leader in advanced chip manufacturing.
NOW TAIWAN (TSMC) IS MOVING TO ARIZONA!
Excerpt:
“The engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “Adding American manufacturing helps us better meet the incredible and growing demand for AI chips and supercomputers, strengthens our supply chain and boosts our resiliency.”
What it means?
No chip shipping, forget the ships.
No tariff barrier.
(AIC Presumes) ONGOING Growth of a NEW robust superchip industry in USA.
(AIC Presumes) China unhappiness.
EDGE to USA AI Market on the World Stage.
VERY EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD FOR USAI AND GLOBAL AI.
It is a tricky non-small wrinkle of geopolitics and global commerce, whereas Taiwan is variously seen as its own ROC (“Republic of China”) Taiwan, or from China as part of China — obviously this amplifies the implications significantly (chips alone account for 15% of Taiwan’s GDP).
Businesswise, with chips onshore, there is very nearly a presumption of expanded USA AI facilities also onshore (or TSMC/NVIDIA would not likely have committed so much and so publicly).
The balance of power in computing and AI have just taken a major shift to the West.
The Eagle crows…
