Many reduce “AI” to “GPT.”
While they are a formidable player, they are not the whole story.
A vast pioneer landscape stretches in front of us of great creativity, variety, and promise.
In Law + AI alone, this is a multi-Billions dollar market which will rise over the years to a 1T+ market. In the macro. In the micro. Attorney tools. Client tools. Public tools.
Many are coming to apprehend and articulate this thesis — that open source widely distributed personalized configurable configured local bespoke fit-to-purpose (“It’s the Use Case (Stupid)!”)
As we have said here, “SLM > LLM” and “small is the new big.”

Is ChatGPT the peak of the AI world?
Nowadays, people make the mistake of assuming AI is all about ChatGPT. It even became synonymous.
But what most people fail to realize is that it is just large language models ( L.L.M). AI is much broader than that. We are now seeing some fantastic results in non-language-based models.
ChatGPT, though remarkable in its own ways, sometimes fails to do basic tasks. Like solving 7th-grade math problems or making illegal moves in Chess.
Why does that happen?
Why does ChatGPT, which sometimes can do things that are beyond human potential, still fail to do tasks that can be done by any average human?
Because ChatGPT is a god-level sentence finisher.
You give it in any input. It goes across billions of similar searches across the Internet and stitches together a sentence.
One of the researchers said, “The model relies on a local and greedy process of generating the next word, without any global or deep understanding of the task or the output”
We can also say:
ChatGPT is the world’s best word pattern recognizer.
But AI isn’t limited to that. Like any business, the nicher an AI model, the more accurate its results will be. If you’ve heard of Stockfish, the world’s best chess bot, you would understand that AI can be much more than LLM.
Everyone treats ChatGPT like a supermarket where everything is available. But AI can be a poker bot that can beat professional poker players.
Today, I will talk about how small-targeted AI is much better than ChatGPT.
1. Targeted bots are much more accurate
Since ChatGPT has access to a wide variety of content, its results are way off. One of the reasons why you see that it fails to do basic mathematics. At the same time, Chatbots have specific knowledge bases and matching models. There are pre-written answers that come from FAQs or your research specific to your target audience.
2. Rule-based results
Most of my clients for whom I made chatbots said that AI models are more satisfactory than ChatGPT because game rules are pre-defined. If something doesn’t fit in their knowledge base, they won’t give you a vague answer.
But ChatGPT gives you inaccurate ideas without taking more than 5 seconds.
3. Trainable
Just like any growing business trains its employees, your AI chatbots must also be trainable. LLM, like ChatGPT, doesn’t allow any training ( without paying heavy fees).
People who think ChatGPT is the future should hear Yan Lecun, the head of AI at Meta, say that language models will disappear in a few years.
Future AI systems will use a different blueprint.
I’m definitely on board with Yan Lecun.
